And, Mary Rapp and Erkki Veltheim will be coming together to investigate rhythm, harmony, intervals, sounds, exploring them with passion and joy in an improvised setting. Both musicians are influenced by all sorts of musical traditions, but here will focus on being creative, free, joyous, curious, unaffected by learned protocols, and unbiased.
Vocal virtuose Carolyn Connors, concussive abstractificationist Sean Baxter and neoteric percussive terror Rama Parwata collaboratively summarise millennia of instinctive anthropomorphic sound-making into 20 minutes of brutiful bliss.
And for the first time with us at Make It Up Club, Sophie Weston and Dom Chaseling make breath the inception of their sonic relationship, tapping in to the vocal resonances of the flute and its capacity for dusky, glimmering tonal inflection.
