Tremor - Arts House 16-20 Nov 2016

Tremor by Ashley Dyer has been created with sound artist Nigel Brown (back in Melbourne for the shows) amongst a team of collaborators and performers. It features an 8 x 10 meter custom built instrument consisting of close to 250 pieces of sheet metal vertically suspended that are activated by 16 powerful low frequency transducers. The resulting movement and sonic potential charts precise sine tone visualisations and rich metallic harmonics, through to chaotic flailing and thundering crashes. Brass, copper, sprung steel and aluminium. With thanks to Len Lye for much of the inspiration. Detailed pattern sequences of movement are performed in the centre of the instrument/set by three dancers.
