This Tuesday at MIUC we invite four disciples of the RMIT school of
soundsculpting to bathe the upper level of Bar Open in blissful tones
and drones, and invite you, dear listener, to come and bask in the
sounds of the sublime. Atticus Bastow invokes ethereal
clouds of slow-shifting audial electrolysis, layering frequency upon
frequency until the air is so rich with sound that the lines between
exquisite and ominous are smudged into oblivion. Toby James Joy
is the performative moniker of Toby Brodel, who since last gracing our
stage in 2012 has expanded his sonic exploration to incorporate
generative audiovisuals, and honed his hums to incorporate deeper levels
of joy and brutality/brodelity. And two gentlemen who run an audio
branding company, Steven Soha and James Cvetkovski, let
loose their consumer-influencing skills in an entirely uncommercial and
client-less context as they employ contact-speaker guitar feedback to
permeate your mind.
