>>>Play Parameters<<<<
Play Parameters is an experimental sonic and performative excursion into the art of gameplay. In this imaginative and inventive arts project, Troy Innocent and Benjamin Kolaitis have designed an interactive installation that meshes visual and compositional gameplay elements together with the structural elements of musical instrumentation.
>>Dr Troy Innocent is a world builder, iconographer and reality newbie. His artificial worlds – Iconica (SIGGRAPH 98, USA), and Semiomorph (ISEA02, Japan) – explore the dynamic between the iconic ideal and the personal specific, the real and the simulated, and the way in which our identity is shaped by language and communication.Innocent co-founded the digital arts collective cyber dada and through pioneering works such as Idea-ON>! contributed to the Australian new media arts practice during the 90s.

>>Benjamin Kolaitis is a contemporary instrument builder, sound artist and sculptural artist. He currently works with sculpture, sound, electronics and programming to develop kinetic sound sculptures, invented instruments and improvised performances. A key feature of his work is play, engagement and community. He seeks to encourage audiences to expand their engagement with sound as a material element through the tactile nature of play, together with skill sharing and community engagement.
