Tuesday October 9th @ the Make It Up Club

This edition of MIUC boasts some intriguing international guests in collaboration with some of Melbourne’s greats. From Tehran, Gelareh Pour incorporates her Persian classical training in a duo with reeds master Adam Simmons, in this instance showcasing his sublime skills with the shakuhachi. Beijing’s resident avant garde music impresario, intellectual and innovative sound artist, Yan Jun returns to the MIUC stage, to rekindle collaborative projects with extended vocal virtuoso, Alice Hui-Sheng Chang, and the abstracted extended percussion techniques of Sean Baxter. And counterbalancing this week’s concert with tripped and psyched digital and analog electronics, the MIUC debut of Easy Dada

Adam Simmons (shakuhachi) and Gela Reh (Iran) (voice and kamanche)
Yan Jun (China) (electronics), Alice Hui-Sheng Chang (voice) and Sean Baxter (percussion)
Easy Dada featuring: David Gallagher (micro modular and laptop) and Caleb Gallagher (moog source)
