The project titled
Endangered Sounds: an Acoustic History of Brunswick
is the culmination of recording oral history and acoustic spatial information of the current cultural and the physical landscape of Brunswick.
Due to Planning Zoning changes in Brunswick, the impending increased density of residential development will displace the current industry/ large volume work places. This project has required personal engagement with buildings, the owners and workers allowing them and their buildings to have a voice before they are rendered silent.
But the aim of this project is to allow these sounds of the people, the machines and the architecture to be made available now, but for the future generations using the technology of today. Thus the use of augmented reality software will allow geolocative stories to be found at these Locations now and into the future.
