Tuesday November 8th @ the Make It Up Club

This week, two of Sydney's great, young avant garde improvisers (both of whom have been pivotal curators and organisers of the incredible NOWnow festival and monthly series in NSW over the last few years), perform. Exploring the abstracted sonorities of wooden and metal reeds, Laura Altman and Peter Farrar promise a focussed listening experience, spanning the acoustic, psycho-acoustic and micro-acoustic worlds of their respective instruments. Recently returned, Toby Brodel is presenting his solo voice and guitars project, where soundwaves make you think. And, Hanna Silver debuts a new trio of post-serialist/abstract free jazz persuasions.

  • Laura Altman (clarinet) and Peter Farrar (saxophone)
  • Tobias Brodel (bass guitar, guitar and microphone)
  • Bad Doctor, featuring: Hanna Silver (synthesizers and effects), Michael O'Connor (flute and effects) and Conrad Tracy (drumkit)
