Slub - Thornbury Theatre - 26 Nov 2011

After 15 years of silence & hibernation SLUB have re-assembled!! They play a one-off show to conicide with the ROOTTMANN Lp appearing on CD (and re-mastered) for the first time since its original vinyl release in 1989.

Original ROOTTMANN co-workers, noise-maestro JOHN MURPHY and drummer CHRIS HUGHES now reside in Berlin and will be present in spirit - neither could face the long swim (or the ride on a leaky boat) to partake in this 'multi-media' performannce!

This pair will be ably replaced by new members MICHAEL WILCZEK (drums - GRONG GRONG) and guitarist TROY NORFOLK (SCOURGE, CHRISTBAIT), who join PETER KENNY - original member since SLUB's conception - sharing vocal duties with near-birth SLUB identity SONKE RICKERTSEN (on guitar also).

For this very special event, Collingwood artist DEAN McINERNEY will employ 2 film screens strectching across the vast interior of The Thornbury Theatre to project an array of abstract visual works.

True to its philosophy of 'constant change', SLUB's latest incarnation is spiked some new material, and a few surprises, even for those familiar with SLUB's output. Note: SLUB vocalist VIKKI RILEY has had to prioritised her pressing refugee work in the NT thus won't be partaking in this show

Supports HARRY HOWARD & NDE and CUBA IS JAPAN guarantee a very special night.

People this event is not to be missed - it is both noise-music history, and history in the making!
