This week, the sublime THIS Ensemble, convened by legendary Melbourne guitarist, Ren Walters perform 2 sets in various configurations. THIS Ensemble have consistently elevated the possibilities of spontaneous composition for many years, incorporating the extremes of abstraction and sonority, with fluid and intelligent improvising minds. Comprising some of the most accomplished instrumentalists in the city, who's virtuosity across a range of idioms—from acoustic free jazz and avant classical to rarefied sonics and fractured electronics—is always astounding to witness.
