Damo Suzuki of CAN plays Maximum Arousal this Sunday!

Sun Feb 15 8pm
The Toff 252 Swanston St Melbourne
Maximum Arousal presents:
DAMO SUZUKI (Japan) + THE KITS (UK)

Damo Suzuki returns to Melbourne to play at the Toff on Sunday February 15!

While busking outside a cafe in Munich in May of 1970, Damo was discovered by Can members Holger Czukay and Jaki Liebezeit; asked to replace the group's former frontman Malcolm Mooney. With Suzuki in the lineup, Can produced its most enduring and innovative work. He left the band to become a Jehovah's Witness. Absent from music for a decade, he returned to music in 1983, and currently leads what is known as Damo Suzuki's Network - as he tours, he performs live improvisational music with various local musicians (so-called "Sound Carriers") from around the world, thus building up a 'network' of musicians that he has and can collaborate with. The Sound Carrieres for this show will be Sydney band The Holy Soul. Also appearing London-based garage rockers The Kits.

Upcoming Arousal:
Sun Feb 22: GUDRUN GUT (Germany) + MANI NEUMEIER (Germany) with Oren Ambarchi & Ed Ammendola
